I have also heard that crying releases endorphins. Other studies have shown that tears shed during times of high emotion (versus crying because you got dust in your eyes) have a much higher hormone content; researchers concluded that means a good cry can get the stress out of your head- literally- and make you feel better.
Some have said that laughter is the best medicine, but in my opinion the winning formula is a combination of fervent prayer, laughing often, crying when appropriate, and Tylenol as needed.
And during the rare moments when something makes you laugh so hard you cry- take a picture!

Yeah, I think tears with meaning have a few more hormones behind them. I can't even fathom how much you must miss Lee. You are definitely right when you talk of a combination of emotions. Laughter, I'm sure is the best and that picture - definitely says laughs. :) Hang in there.
Ha Ha, I want to spank those cute little bums. Is that weird? I love that quote by Sister Hinkley.
By the way, we've literally been sick for the whole last month, but as soon as we're all better, I'm inviting you over!
SMILE!! Love those kiddos! My inner bum monster wants to come and get those little bums!
amen and amen.
I actually watched Sense & Sensibility the other night (I'd never seen it before), and just sobbed at the end. It had been a long time since I'd cried that hard. And it did feel really good.
Thank You so much for the validation. Being a single parent so stinks.....huh? And you have to treasure every picture that makes you laugh til you cry.
love your guts!!! (and the rest of you too!!!)
You tell Jana that I fed her fish. Every last one of them. :) And give yourself a hug from me. A little awkward to do, I know, but sometimes it just needs to be done.
Haha, I LOVE it!
